Truck running boards offer an extra step to make getting into and out of your truck cab a little easier. The most durable, strong steps are made from tubular steel. Other, less expensive models are made primarily from plastic. Either way, especially if you have lifted your truck, you will need that extra boost to enter and exit the cab.

Truck running boards are sometimes referred to as step boards. Some performance model nerf bars are made primarily of tubular steel and wraparound the front end to form a step that functions as a running board as well as a nerf bar. Often, they are chrome, stainless, powder coated, or aluminum.

Truck running boards can also be custom-made for your truck. If you have a specific mixture of form and function in mind, these requests can be met by a manufacturer or parts machining specialist.

Running boards are an important accessory for the truck that has been lifted even higher off the ground than it was to begin with. Without them, you would be pole vaulting into your truck cab.
