When
is the last time you did a check up on your rear truck bumpers? What’s
that? Never! Well, don’t worry. You are not alone. As a matter
of fact, pretty much nobody thinks to check on the status of the rear
bumper.
Here are some tips about how to perform a truck rear bumper check:
• Jump on the bumper ? Not only does it sound fun, but it is
fun. By exiting the vehicle and standing and jumping on the bumper,
you can test the bumper strength. If the bumper stays firm and does
not move, then all is well. If the bumper shakes or wiggles even a bit,
that means that there is probably something loose and you should exercise
caution. You may even want to consider replacing the bumper, depending
on how shaky it actually is.
• Look for scrapes – If you have a rubber bumper, there
probably won’t be much to look at, but if you have a metal or
a chrome bumper, it is very likely you will be able to see a few things
on there that you may not like and do not want to see. If keeping your
truck looking immaculate is of the utmost importance to you, then you
may want to consider refinishing the bumper or replacing it.
This may be a drastic step, but if the look of it is absolutely vital
to you, then it may not be an awful idea to do something like this.
Checking truck rear bumpers is not a difficult process, but if you
do it at least once a year, you may thank yourself for it later.
