With
genuine Ford Ranger accessories, truck owners can keep their rides looking
and running like new. The Ford Ranger has been on the market for over
25 years and is still going strong. The Ranger appeared in 1982 as a
replacement for the Mazda Courier (at the time Ford owned 25% of Mazda).
It was available in two or four wheel drive, and five-speed manual or
four-speed automatic transmission.
Over the next few years not much changed on the Ranger, except for
increased horsepower. Ford began using more aluminum and composite materials
to fight corrosion. In 1986 the roll bar and grill guard became original
options. These were the godfathers of all Ford Ranger accessories. At
the same time, the Super Cab was introduced.
A couple years later a new 4x4 model called the High Rider STX was
born. It offered more ground clearance and a larger engine. Brand new
Ford Ranger accessories like white painted wheels and electronic display
radios came into being. Other than the edition of the Super Cab, the
look of the Ranger had remained largely the same throughout the ‘80s.
That all changed with the introduction of Generation II Rangers in 1989.
