Creating
a fiberglass truck camper mold is the first step in the construction
of many truck campers. Standard molds are designed to fit many popular
makes and models and custom molds can be created as well. Truck campers
are secured to the bed of a truck to create covered cargo space or mobile
living quarters. Original make shift designs were made of wood and tin.
The fiberglass truck camper mold is the most popular type but aluminum
is still widely used.
An aluminum truck camper mold:
• Is designed as a standard mold which fits only the bed of the
truck. This means that the front of the camper may be taller or shorter
than the cab of the vehicle.
• Will not contour to fit the trucks cab.
• May start at around $500.
• Will only be available in standard colors.
A fiberglass truck camper mold:
• Is made from a custom mold to fit a wider selection of makes
and models.
• Creates a sharp, sleek look by fitting the contours of the truck
cab.
• Will start at around $1000.
• Can be painted to match the exact color of any truck.
