With
a fiberglass truck bed liner, there is no need to worry about scratching
the paint or putting dents and dings in a truck bed. Bed liners are
also made from different types of rubber and/or plastic. Spray-on and
brush-on polyurethane lining can also be found. Different technologies
and materials continue to emerge as the popularity of bed liners rises.
A fiberglass truck bed liner, or one made from rubber, is manufactured
to fit the bed of a specific truck make and model. These are known as
drop-in liners. Advantages of drop-in liners include:
• Easy installation and removal.
• Thick, rugged bodies which are long-lasting and easy to clean.
• They can be mounted under the bed rail, or over it for extra
protection.
A few disadvantages of drop-in liners:
• Some may shift around the bed and may scuff the paint beneath.
• Dirt and sand can find their way in between the liner and the
bed, causing further scratches.
• They may be gouged or broken.
A bed liner is a worthwhile investment for all truck owners, especially
those who are rough on their vehicles. Spray-on liners are becoming
more popular than drop-in than rubber or fiberglass truck bed liners,
but there are disadvantages with them as well.
